What is a hub?

Classification and characteristics of wheel hubs
According to the material, the wheel hub can be divided into two categories: steel rim wheel hub and alloy wheel hub.
1. Steel rim hub
The models with steel rim wheels are generally based on cost considerations, because the steel rim wheels have lower cost and simple manufacturing process. Compared with alloy wheels, steel rim wheels are more solid; The disadvantages are heavy weight and large inertia, which is not conducive to fuel saving. In addition, due to the structural problem of the steel rim hub, its heat dissipation efficiency is not as good as that of the alloy material, which is not conducive to brake heat conduction, and may reduce the brake efficiency. In addition, car owners equipped with steel rim hubs should not park their vehicles for a long time, and should try to move their vehicles every week to prevent irreversible slight deformation of steel rim hubs.
2. Alloy wheel hub
Alloy wheels are divided into two forms: forging and casting. In addition to the above two original processes, there is now a new process called MAT spinning casting. Here we will not talk about the differences between them. Alloy wheels have obvious advantages, such as lightweight, beautiful appearance, good heat dissipation, small motion inertia and high manufacturing precision; The disadvantage is that the cost is a little high compared with the steel ring. Considering the cost, the car enterprises will abandon the alloy wheel hub. The manufacturing process is more complex compared with the steel ring, and the appearance is easy to be damaged.
